IDAT announces the first release of their Revit Precast Tools for Autodesk Revit Structure software. The Revit Precast Tools for Revit Structure extends Building Information Modelling (BIM) from design to fabrication of precast elements. The Revit Precast Tools for Autodesk Revit Structure provide a streamlined design process for structural engineers in the precast industry.
IDAT, which has developed applications built on Autodesk’s products for many years, specializes in solutions for the precast concrete market, and is an Autodesk AEC Industry Partner and Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) member.
This first release of Revit Precast Tools for Revit Structure allows structural engineers greater design flexibility to model and detail precast elements. The toolkit provides the ability to create corbels, mounting parts, reinforcement and shop drawings automatically. Necessary design data to connect to precast fabrication machines such as shuttering robots, laser, bar bending and cutting machines are created accurately ensuring design intent is carried through from detailing to fabrication and construction in alignment with a true Autodesk Revit-based BIM workflow.
The Revit Precast Tools for Autodesk Revit Structure are a first step for IDAT towards achieving their goal of delivering a complete Revit-based integrated BIM workflow from design to fabrication for the precast industry.
The Revit Precast Tools for Autodesk Revit Structure, in conjunction with Autodesk Revit Structure, provide structural engineers with the ability to more accurately and efficiently extend building designs to fabrication and through to construction. With Revit Structure supporting the BIM process, engineers can design, analyze and visualize design intent prior to construction. Because of the direct integration of the Revit Precast Tools with Autodesk Revit Structure, model design information can be used downstream through to fabrication with greater accuracy therefore helping to reduce the risk of losing original design intent.
