SpriCAD® for Revit

With SpriCAD® the input of pipeline geometry can be made alternatively with the CAD system Revit. For SpriCad for Revit, a full version between 2016 and 2019 (64 Bit) under Windows 7, 8 and 10 is required.

The complete input of the pipe network is made in Revit itself. It is thus simply possible to enter the sprinkler network into existing Revit models (for example, architect plan, BIM, etc.).
In a separate configuration, the used families are assigned to the element types (sprinklers, elbows, tees, valves, etc.)

Pipes and sprinklers contain shared parameters to which additional data can be assigned (such as C-value, DN-value, pipe roughness in pipes and K-factor, water admission, protection area, active area in sprinklers).
Thus, an active area number can be assigned to each sprinkler. Only the number of the active area must be selected for the calculation of the most favorable or most unfavorable active area.

Both, the location of the pump as well as the location of the most unfavorable sprinkler are available at a mouse click. Changes of pipes or sprinklers can be made by clicking on the concerned elements. With a menu command, a dialog box will appear on the screen where the values can be changed.

By clicking with the mouse on an appropriated command all data will be transferred automatically to the calculation program SpriCalc. As a result of the calculation not only a print-out of the whole system can be obtained (which is also possible only with the calculation program WinSprink) but also water conditions in the net can be graphically displayed. It is also possible to present the loss of pressure and the flowing speed graphically: The water quantity, pressure loss or flow velocity are graded in different colors. This visualization gives you a quick overview of the pressure and water conditions in the pipe network, which in turn can be influenced by simply changing the pipe diameters and optimizing the network.

A further advantage of the input of pipes via Revit is the possibility of reusing the data of the geometry for e.g. plannings of buildings, plans of architects etc. Revit itself then again offers the possibility, e.g. also to produce materialists.

Thus, with SpriCAD® the following items can be processed:

  • Hydraulic calculation of the sprinklers
  • The isometric view generation for VdS examination
  • The preparation of documents for the prefabrication
  • Optional: Calculation of the pressure loss according to the Darcy-Weisbach-Formula instead of the Hazen-Williams-Formula
