This program allows you to create cost estimates for precast concrete structures for the purpose of determining prices for bids. It supports cost estimates for walls, floors, beam components, and special elements such as balconies, etc. Each cost estimate is based on the Revit building model.
Before using the program for the first time, the user must configure it to match their specific calculation method. To do this, any number of parameters or factors can be defined—either generally or based on component type—and integrated into the calculation process (reinforcement grades, transportation and planning surcharges, and much more).
For the Revit model, you can specify whether the entire model or only certain parts of it should be used for the calculation. For the Revit objects to be calculated, the precast concrete element type must be specified (for walls, for example, whether a solid, sandwich, or double wall is to be produced).
After the calculation is started, the function determines all quantities and masses from the model, as well as various specific data. For example, for slabs and walls, the model is virtually divided into elements to determine the expected number of elements and, consequently, the number of element-dependent components such as lifting anchors or element connectors. For beam components, the program automatically identifies the connection areas and thus the number of connection components or supports (e.g., brackets) to be considered. This information is collected by Revit Precast Estimation and automatically incorporated into the calculation according to predefined rules.

This feature automates the creation of fabrication drawings for precast concrete elements directly from Revit and offers a wide range of options for customizing the drawing layout. A key feature is the ability to automatically generate multiple drawings with different content (geometry, reinforcement, embedded parts, etc.) for the same element.
Depending on the precast element type, the user can define various plan layouts in advance and specify which information should be displayed accordingly. Later, the user can either generate the various plan types for all elements of a given type at once, or decide individually for each element which plan type to generate. In both cases, the plans are generated fully automatically.
The creation of fabrication drawings is also available for other types of prefabricated components, such as columns, beams, trusses, and stairs. In theory, such a drawing can be generated for any Revit assembly. The options for customizing fabrication drawings also include the ability to easily create additional views or sections within the drawing. Furthermore, a customizable steel list with corresponding bending diagrams can be added to the plan.

Model and edit common precast elements such as columns, beams, or foundations flexibly and efficiently in your BIM model. You can access custom-created or predefined families, place brackets or cantilevers individually, and configure any type of fastener to meet your requirements. Thanks to the unique IDAT Family Extender, you can drastically reduce your design workload. Simply define the reinforcement in a family and generate it for all similar components in a single step across the entire 3D model. (Major advantage: You reduce the risk of transfer errors.) Necessary adjustments to individual components remain possible at any time, of course.
To optimize communication and collaboration among all project participants—from the design office to production or the construction site—we at IDAT offer you the ability to generate your design and fabrication documents according to your specific needs. Compile your data as needed and take advantage of the exclusive option to generate multiple fabrication sheets simultaneously, e.g., for component geometry, embedded parts, and/or reinforcement.

Here it is: the challenge of designing and producing ceiling elements! Solid ceilings, precast or filigree ceilings, and, last but not least, hollow-beam ceilings. You can rely on the capabilities of IDAT Revit Precast just as you would for all other element types (walls and general precast components).
If it works for walls, it can't be bad for ceilings!
Using this approach, you can generate any number of production drawings based on your planning, each with a custom layout. You have the flexibility to decide which information should appear on your production drawings and can tailor them entirely to the requirements and preferences of your clients and partners. If requirements change, you can update the drawings individually without affecting the BIM model.
The high efficiency of IDAT Revit Precast for floor elements will become clear to you, if not sooner, when you use our newly developed Family Extender—available exclusively from IDAT. This allows you to place complete reinforcement and embedded parts on prefabricated floor elements fully automatically and reliably. For slab elements as well, the unique IDAT Explode command enhances the customization and level of detail when editing the base model. Visually break down the desired Extender family into its components, edit specific details clearly according to your requirements, and then reassemble them for application to the corresponding assembly. Of course, standard features include additional reinforcement and special components for openings, slots, and built-in parts. Component openings are generated and placed fully automatically based on the necessary parameters.
And of course, the best is saved for last: When designing hollow-core slabs, IDAT Revit Precast allows you to freely select profiles for the hollow cores, including the end profiles. Furthermore, you can design saw-cut joints with cut edges—something that is simply impossible using Revit’s basic functions!
Once your plans are finalized, approved, and ready for production, use IDAT Revit Precast to generate valid machine data in PXML or Unitechnik 5.2 and/or 6.0.
