The WinSprink® program is based on the calculation core (SpriCalc), which has been successfully proven on the market for many years.

Calculation of open and meshed systems is possible.

The data is entered without a CAD program, purely in tabular form using an input tree similar to Windows Explorer.

Enter the following pipe information:

  • DN value
  • C-value
  • junctions
  • Number of fittings/special lengths
  • Comments

For example, sub-elements of a strand pipe can be clearly listed within a pipe. Copy functions allow pipes that have been defined once to be used multiple times.

Automatic transfer of equivalent lengths of installation parts via the equivalent length table.

Three standard tables (VdS and FM) are included in the program. User-specific tables can be added.

Any number of effective areas can be entered, calculated, and saved.

WinSprink meets the accuracy requirements specified by VdS/FM/NFPA/DIN EN 12845 and the format of the calculation printout.

For each pipe section, the program prints out the following information:

  • Pipe number
  • Start and end node number
  • Pressure at the beginning of the pipe section
  • for sprinklers, the K-factor
  • the flow rate at the sprinkler
  • the amount of water in the pipe
  • Pipe diameter and length
  • Fittings (number of elbows, angles, T-pieces, etc.)
  • the hydraulic length
  • Pressure loss due to friction
  • height difference
  • the total pressure loss
  • the pressure at the end of the pipe
  • the flow velocity in the pipe section

Graphical representation of the calculation result with the pump characteristic curve.

  • Calculation with 120 iterations
  • Optimized planning for cost savings
  • Calculation based on tabular input
  • Compliant with VdS CEA 4001, FM Global, NFPA, DIN EN 12845
  • Calculation according to Hazen-Williams and Darcy-Weisbach (spray water and foam extinguishing systems)
  • Calculation of arbitrarily meshed networks possible
  • Extensive list of pump characteristics
  • Output of flow time for dry groups

WinSprink® meets the requirements of the VdS guidelines.
The calculation core has already been tested and approved by VdS.
No objections were raised. The calculations are also accepted by FM and other testing institutions.

As a paid add-on option, it is also possible to calculate the pressure loss using the Darcy-Weisbach formula (e.g. for foam systems) instead of the Hazen-Williams formula.
